St. Andrew’s decided to become a reconciling congregation because we believe that God’s love extends to everyone regardless of race, socio-economic status, sexual orientation or gender identity. God created each one of us in His image. Therefore St. Andrew’s welcomes all to worship with us and to be full members of our church community.
What We Believe
For many Christians, homosexuality and other human sexual orientations present thorny problems for the faith journey. The unfortunate part of this issue is the general lack of knowledge of the scriptural content, and uncritical use of the texts of the Bible. Many listen to the preachers, and take their words whole, and repeat whatever has been heard.
This is not how we should base our understanding of the scriptures.
